Videography

Whether to have a wedding video/DVD is a dilemma faced by many couples. Perhaps it's an additional cost to your budget or maybe you've overspent in some areas and are trying to work out whether you really need a wedding video in addition to your photo album?

Employing a videographer will allow you to relive your special day

Your wedding day will fly by so quickly and many couples wish they could relive the moments again when they are able to take it all in at their own pace. If you know you will always be thinking 'if only', then perhaps you'll have to find something else to cut back on.

If you're watching your budget, getting a friend to video your day on a portable video camera is another possibility. Professional wedding videographers will always advise against this because 'the quality will be poor' - but if you're not fussed about the frills and just want to relive the moment then it's a perfectly good option. You might also be able to edit it and add your own music.

How your guests will respond to being on video should also be something you need to consider. Camera shy guests who keep turning away might ruin the feel of your wedding video.

Professional wedding videographers typically charge anything from £600 to £2,000 plus. As with wedding photographers, the amount you pay will depend on what is included in the video package.
