Alternatives to Wedding Insurance
Wedding insurance might not be the only option. There are a couple of other ways you can protect various aspects of your wedding.
- Home insurance will cover a lot of items such as your wedding dress, rings, and any wedding presents left at your home. Contact your current home insurance provider to check the level of cover is in place under your existing policy. If you need to increase your cover temporarily, it is unlikely to cost more than a few pounds.
- Paying by credit card is a safe way of ensuring you are compensated in the event that a supplier fails to deliver/doesn’t turn up/goes out of business as you will be reimbursed by the credit card company. This usually applies to anything bought between £100 and £30,000. You may find though that many wedding suppliers don’t accept credit card.
- Supplier insurance cover. The majority of your suppliers should have their own level of insurance that should protect you to some degree. When choosing your suppliers you should find out what level of insurance cover they have and how it would protect you.
If your wedding is going to be a modest affair or you are just worried about certain scenarios, you may find that the above alternatives are all you need to ensure you’re covered financially.
