Place Cards

Most couples choose to assign specific seats at tables for their wedding guests. In this case, you’ll need to create some place cards with your guest’s names to indicate where they should sit.

Wedding place card ideas

The simplest place cards can made as follows:

  1. Cut a sheet of A4 card in two long lengths (297mm x 105mm)
  2. Cut each length horizontally into three (99mm x 105mm)
  3. Fold each bit of card in half to create a wedding place card (99mmx 52.5mm when folded)
  4. Each A4 sheet of card will create six place cards

You can then personalise them as follows:

  • Names can be handwritten or printed out to be cut to size and stuck on the place cards.
  • Embellish your cards with heart or flower shape cards (using a craft punch), decorative jewels or ribbon

If you want to move away from the traditional place card, get some inspiration from our place card ideas below.

  • Collect large pebbles and write your guests names on each pebble
  • Heart or butterfly shaped place cards can be attached to the rim of their wine glass.
  • Write names on a tag (use a tag shaped craft punch) and tie with ribbon to a wine glass, bottle of bubbles or individual favours.
  • Create personalised trump cards for each of your guests. Take a look at Trumperama or Monster Mates.
  • Collect wine or champagne corks and put your guest names on a piece of card in the top
